Creating More Space

This challenging project was a renovation of a stone farmhouse, which was beautifully built, but a warren of rooms and little staircases. The clients wanted to increase the usable space and have easy access to all floors. (More details & photos below)

Our design solved the confused layout and access by creating an extension, harmoniously integrated into the original building, which would  give space for a main staircase of elegant proportions.

Working closely with the clients, we made sure every detail was perfect. A new kitchen and hallway were created, as well as bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms in the attics. Lucarne windows, harmonising with the existing architectural style, were built to bring extra light to these attic rooms. We had earlier worked with these clients to install a large swimming pool with roller cover. What was a solid but rather dull farmhouse is now beautiful home with lots of space to entertain.
